FTC 40 Skate Contest

A couple weeks ago, skateboarding took over the Haight for FTC40 at the Haight-Ashbury Street Fair.

It was a full day of skating, friends, familiar faces, and plenty of good chaos. Skaters of all ages and levels came out to throw down, showing out on the ramps and obstacles set up by FTC and Vans, including an old beater car.

Our own Michael Cheatum was on the mic as MC, keeping the energy up and the crowd in the action. We brought prizes to give away to contest winners and youth participants, including shirts, custom grip tape, shoes, and other swag.

We love seeing skateboarding show up in the middle of San Francisco’s neighborhoods and bring so many different parts of the community together. FTC has been a huge part of San Francisco skateboarding for four decades, and it was special to celebrate that history while watching a new generation of skaters make their own memories.
